RIP sweet Maggie. Eight years was not long enough.

Maggie had the toughest beginning, hernia & several intestinal surgeries not long after she came home with us. Saving her was so worth it. She loved & protected each of us fiercely.

She was a grief eater. She found whoever needed her most and slept in their room. She sensed struggle before anyone said a word. She was with us through the school shooting. She kept us busy and grounded during Covid. She hiked, camped, and paddle boarded with us. She loved the trampoline and even welcomed Gus, our kitten.

We thought we had more time.

We were away when we lost her. The team that came for Maggie set up a viewing so we could say goodbye. I had never known that kind of care existed for an animal. She was laid out beautifully — purple pillow, purple blanket — and she looked peaceful. Loved. They understood the depth of what our pets are to us. If you are in Colorado and ever face this moment, Caring Pathways and Amare Pet Cremation are the people you want. Their care and support deserve recognition.

Home is not the same without Maggie.

She saw us through our toughest and our best days. She knew she was loved. 💔
